How NailsLeBelle Was Born: From the Bronx to My Luxury Nail Studio

Behind The Scenes

Hi beauties,

Welcome to my very first blog.

My name is Veronica. I’m 35 years old, born and raised in the Bronx, and I’m a mother to my beautiful 13-year-old daughter, Isabella.

She is my world and I know every parent says that, lol but truly, she has been my biggest blessing. She was born on Christmas Day, so I always say she was the best gift I could have ever received. From the moment I became her mom, my life changed for the better.

After having Isabella, I moved into my first apartment, then eventually into my second one  and that’s where NailsLeBelle was born.

NailsLeBelle started as a hobby after having one too many bad experiences in nail salons. One day I thought, “Honestly, I can do this myself.” And I did.

NailsLeBelle when it first started

Was I the greatest in the beginning? Absolutely not, lol. But I practiced, I tried, I learned, and I kept evolving. I was self-taught at first, practicing on myself, my sisters, and my friends.

Then in February 2020, I took my first nail course for acrylic, and that lit something up in me. I knew I wanted to keep going.

Then COVID happened, and the whole world changed.

Once it was safe, I started taking clients from home, and from there, the journey really began.

Around that season of my life, I had also met my boyfriend. Years later, Bella and I relocated to Long Island, and looking back, it was truly one of the best decisions I ever made because this is where NailsLeBelle grew.

It went from me getting licensed, to opening my first suite, to realizing that this was no longer just something I enjoyed doing. This was becoming my purpose.

I started with nails, then slowly expanded into pedicures. As my business grew, I opened a second suite because I needed more space. Then I eventually moved to Merrick, and that’s when suite life completely changed for me.

Now, NailsLeBelle feels like a luxury studio.

I am truly obsessed with how my studio is coming together. It feels beautiful, intentional, peaceful, and most importantly  it feels like me.

In late 2023, I made the decision to transition away from acrylic. It was no longer a service that aligned with me, and honestly, it started to affect how I felt physically. I would get headaches and feel dizzy, and I knew something had to shift.

I had always worked with hard gel and builder gel, but once I moved to Long Island, I discovered Japanese gel, took more classes, and eventually fell in love with Russian Manicure.

Once I started learning that style of work, everything changed for me.

Today, Russian Manicure and natural nail health are the foundation of NailsLeBelle. My focus is no longer just about making nails look pretty. It is about protecting the natural nail, creating clean prep, understanding the nail plate, and helping clients grow healthy, beautiful nails.

Nail health became my primary focus because I realized that without healthy natural nails, there is no true retention.

Watching my clients grow their natural nails  especially the ones who once said, “My nails don’t grow”  has brought me so much joy. It gives them confidence, and it reminds me why I love what I do.

To me, luxury is not just about expensive things.

Luxury is in the details.

It’s the iced coffee or matcha.
The snack.
The calm ambiance.
The music playing softly in the background.
The warm towel.
The lotion.
The cuticle oil.
The feeling my clients have when they leave the studio feeling relaxed, cared for, and at peace.

That intention is what makes the service feel special.

As I continued to grow, I also realized that my knowledge and method could help other nail artists too.

That is what led me to create The NLB Method™.

After taking many classes from Russian manicure training, to dry manicure education, to flying to Austin for in-person courses  I took the pieces that worked, questioned the parts that left me confused, and created a method that truly works for my clients.

The NLB Method™ is built from experience, education, trial and error, and the real-life results I see every day in my studio.

It is the reason my work has become more consistent.
It is the reason my retention improved.
It is the reason my books stay full.
And it is the reason I feel so confident in the service I provide.

NailsLeBelle was never meant to be just a nail business.

It was built on the belief that beauty, education, health, and intention can all exist in the same space.

And this is only the beginning.

Thank you for being here and for following along on this journey.

With love,
Veronica
